USELESS COLLEGE DEGREES - The National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) 2012 Job Outlook study recently ranked what they consider the most useless college degrees. Those are linked to careers with virtually little to no projected job growth. Number-one on their list is agriculture. Their reasoning: the U.S. Department of Labor projects 64,000 fewer jobs in this field over the next seven years. Animal science and horticulture degrees are listed fourth and fifth among the top useless degrees. Obviously, we disagree with those findings.
ENERGY TRENDS - Seventy percent of American voters favor increased access to U.S. oil and natural gas resources, and similar numbers believe more oil and natural gas development would provide major benefits to the nation, including more U.S. jobs, according to a new Harris poll released today.
READING MORE - What does your gut tell you about this statement: “Kids in high school read more books for fun than their parents.” In fact, it’s true. Young adult reading is up 20%, according to a new survey. They just aren’t reading hardcover books, e-books is where it’s at.
QUOTE OF THE DAY - “People stumble over pebbles, never over mountains.”
